I fell in love with this top when I saw it on display at my local Cato store. The black ribbed knit and white stripes brought me back to the 1960s, replicating the style of Bridgette Bardo. I’m still new to the off the shoulder trend, but unlike several of the loose fitting peasant tops you’ll see in stores, this top keeps things retro with it’s snug fit creating a romantic silhouette for spring.
Paired with my go to black skinnies and my knee high suede heeled boots (also a Cato buy), this look is put together but still casual. What ties it together (no pun intended) is the silky slim scarf. At first I was going to grab my classic strand of pearls, but perhaps another time when I wear this top with an A-line skirt. Today was a day of paying homage to a more retro era.
