Margaux loves Barbie. And ever since high school, Margaux Lange has used Barbie as in inspiration for her art. Now, as a Fine Arts graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art, she has tweaked her style in the most curious way.
By dismembering old Barbie dolls, Lange has found a new way to attract people to art. Why? Simply to pay homage to childhood and a pop culture icon.
Lange uses sterling silver and pigmented resins to accompany the doll parts. Each doll is second hand and has been purchased from yardsales, ebay, and thrift stores.
