Valentino: The Last Emperor
In Valentino: The Last Emperor, one cannot help but muster the utmost level of respect for this influential designer. The documentary delves into Valentino’s past, present, and future and gives audiences a glimpse of his personal life, which is a pretty big deal considering how mysterious he always acts. From the work room to the runway, Valentino’s vision is carried through. I’d recommend this film to anyone interested in learning about a classic designer or in the field of fashion design.
Girl Model is probably one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. What starts out as a Model Scout searching for girls through the means of a modeling contest ends with the “winner” being a discouraged 13 year old Nadya. Girl Model delves into the controversial issues of underage modeling and gives any model lover a glimpse of the underbelly of the industry. You’ll be amazed with the ruthlessness of the Scouts and the lack of communication with the children who are only working to bring their own families out of poverty. This one is a MUST SEE.
