Since she was young, Andrea has loved sewing and creating custom handbags. Now, as a Fashion Design graduate from West Virginia University, Andrea is living her childhood dream creating custom hand painted purses.
For inspiration, Andrea is inspired by the art scene, “I get inspired by art whether they are paintings or installation art. I also get inspired by prints I see that are similar to my taste. My idol is Lucienne Day…she was a textile designer in the 50s and 60s.”
Personally, I’m a huge fan of anything that is customized because to me it’s like owning an individualized piece of art. Plus, I love how bold and sophisticated these bags are.
From selling her one of a kind bags in local boutiques to being featured in Vogue Knitting (pictured below), Andrea Kostak’s designs are definitely something to keep an eye on!
