Missi Pyle looked like some sort of Hollywood/Marilyn Monroe mermaid! The color was super original and I love the draping across the hips. This dress definitely stands out in a sea of whites and blacks.
I stand corrected in my prediction of Rooney Mara wearing a dress with cutouts, you may see in the back view, there is a stylish band resembling such. Again, her dress reminds me of a mermaid, but this time mixed with some sort of bride angel. Nevertheless, she rocked it.
Oh Angelina. That leg. I’d probably be doing it too if I had that dress on. This dress may be my favorite – from the orgami folded top to the high slit and visible lining this dress was made for the Red Carpet.
Rose Byrne worked a sequin number by Vivienne Westwood. It reminded me a bit of Barbie in the Spotlight, so naturally I loved it. The back is also really simple and elegant, only adding to its appeal. The whole look really just screams: “Look, I’m red carpet chic and I’m not even trying”.
Lastly comes the Oscar statue inspired gown by Marchesa worn by George Clooney’s date Stacey Keibler. I love how this year she really stepped up her appearance. Usually she’s just a trophy date (haha) but this time, she outshines her man and I’m applauding. I love the color (it’s not over the top shiny), fit, and the rose. I’m also glad Stacey chose minimal accessories and hair to not Minaj the look. That about does it. Who were your favorites? Least favorites? I really didn’t have any dresses that I detested like I did last year. I was more or less just not impressed with a few. Share your thoughts, please!
